We at St. Peter's are grateful to the first and second generation Japanese Americans, whose strong faith enabled them to be bold enough to buy the land and engage in not one, but two, major capital campaigns. The result is the wonderful church buildings we are able to enjoy today. St. Peter's is one of the more attractive churches in Seattle, with our main sanctuary building winning an Honor Award from the Architectural Institute of America upon its construction, in 1963.

Our facilities include a main church building capable of seating over 240 people in the sanctuary. The main building also contains a separate chapel, offices, a library/nursery, several classrooms, a large meeting space/Parish Hall, and a full kitchen. During the week, the Diocesan Refugee Resettlement Office uses our Parish Hall as its home.

We also have a separate gymnasium building with its own kitchen, which is used for our social activities, as well as by the local community for basketball, kendo (a Japanese fencing-like martial art), and volleyball. It also serves as the home to a community-based preschool during the school year.

St. Peter's also has a church rectory, featuring 4 bedrooms and 2 baths, located across the street from the church.

We take a great deal of pride and joy in maintaining the buildings and grounds (using a lot of congregational help) and keeping them in immaculate condition. As part of our recent Centennial Celebration in 2008, we installed a Japanese garden near the entrance to our sanctuary. At the same time, a sixty year old Japanese maple tree was donated and transplanted from a parishioner's yard to the front of the church.
