"feed the hungry, clothe the naked, visit the prisoner" - Matthew 25:34-40

God challenges us as a church to take action to live out in love the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our church and in our communities. Outreach to the community outside the walls of Saint Peter's continues to meet this challenge with "no strings attached."

Friends and members of the congregation are generous, making it possible to spread the Gospel and help those in need. Many donated time, talent and money to help others in need, including regular weekly food donations to St. Mary's Neighborhood Food Bank, feeding the needy as part of Kay Abe's Lord's Table, baking cookies for KAIROS prison ministry, gifts for Maritime Ministry Christmas ditty bags and NightWatch, facilities for use by the community, labor at Habitat for Humanities and other projects to help others in need, all for the ministry of Christ in the world. God bless to all of you.

Our Annual "Big Take Out" fund raising event to support outreach projects is scheduled for the first Satuday in May. Every year, St. Peter's uses the proceeds from The Big Take Out held in May to be used for outreach. In 2007, $4,000.00 was distributed to local, national and international organizations. Each individual congregation member voted for their favorite organizations and the proceeds are distributed in proportion to the number of votes each organization receives. The following are the charities and the amount that will be donated to them:
