The Reverend Nat Johnson,
Priest-in-Charge
Contact Nat
The Reverend Nat Johnson (pronouns: they/them) grew up in the Seattle suburbs of the East Side, primarily between Woodinville and Redmond. They left in 2002 due to a job relocation, and spent the next 10 years in California, Arizona, Oregon, and then Colorado before returning in 2012 to attend Seattle Pacific Seminary, where they earned a Master of Art in Theology. They completed a Certificate in Anglican Studies through Church Divinity School at Berkeley in 2019. Nat was ordained to the priesthood in June of 2020 and served as Curate at St. Paul’s, Seattle, where they had also served during their transitional diaconate. They were called as Interim Rector to St Paul’s in November of 2021, and then at Grace Episcopal Church, Bainbridge Island, in November 2022, after St. Paul’s called their new permanent Rector. Nat currently serves on the Commission on Ministry, is a co-convener of the Circle of Allies, and a trainer for the College of Congregational Development. They have a tiny human and two cats that keep them busy!
The Reverend McKenzi Roberson,
Curate
Contact Father McKenzi
The Reverend McKenzi Roberson (pronouns: they/them) is a fourth-generation Pacific Northwesterner. After a childhood in western Washington, Father McKenzi wanted to explore the world, so they left for Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois, where they earned a B.A. in Biblical Studies.
McKenzi then moved to Seattle to pursue a master’s of Theology and Culture from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology. Once back home, McKenzi found the Episcopal church in St. Paul’s, Seattle. After finishing their degree, they began discernment for the priesthood and worked in elder care as a Life Enrichment Assistant. Three years later, they moved to Sewanee, Tennessee, for seminary at The University of the South, where they served as a chapel sacristan and founder of the unofficial Sabbath Committee.
If McKenzi can’t be found at church, on public transportation, wandering about in the woods, or on a grand adventure visiting friends and family, then they are probably at home under a soft blanket absorbed in a story, likely one filled with magic.
